Well, that is the principle of life. No moral justification in this quote.
We shouldn't be sorry about the loss of the man and think this is unfair gain by the other man.
If you cannot capitalize on something, might as well let other benefit right? :-)

Study Techinque
Particularly effective for calculation dominated subject such as Calculus and Corporate Finance:
1) Get the solutions from lecturer or copy during tutorial class
2) Understand the solution to the questions
3) Try to work out the questions without referring the questions - it is important to keep a copy of your work neatly
4) Check your answers against the solutions obtained in 1)
5) Mark down the mistakes done in your answer sheet
6) Prior to exam, revise from your answer sheet and take note of the commonly made mistakes marked in 5) -> this is important for you not to repeat the same mistakes and to learn from it.
7) For theoretical part, refer to the review questions in text book after at the end of each sub-chapter. Make personal note and mind map to get a clear understanding of the subject matter.

Merry Christmas & New Year
Bo ho ho, it has been so long yet again since my last post.
It's a lonely, lonely Christmas again this year. I think the same has happened for the past three or four years.
Has been depressed again, busy with assignments, work and tests. When there is extra time, will read magazines, business related material and watch dvds or drama series.
What a boring life. I hope something extra-ordinary will happen, and happen SOON!
Hmn...will dig out my past year new year resolution and draft a new one later!

Being Optimist
I am an Optimist. It does not seem to be much use being anything else.
An optimist is someone who sees opportunity in every disaster. A pessimist is someone who sees disaster in every opportunity.

Purpose of life
The purpose of life is to make life meaningful and to be happy in this life and continuously in future while we still remain in the influence of negative forces.
We should learn to be good, not to harm anyone and be aware of the positive and negative consequences of our method used to achieve happier lives.
One should promote non-violence and help others and never harm others.
At mental level, we need to have positive attitude and be strong because mental disturbance cannot be overcome by physical comfort. If someone really wants a happy life, then it is vital for him or her to prursue both internal and external means - material development and mental development.
To attain harmnony within oneseslf, the person should increase helpful emotions and reduce harmful emotions. Peace of mind is important for the normal functioning of our mind so that we can think objectively. If it is disturbed with anger and hartred, we will not be able to function properly. Negative feelings will eatup an individual's inner system.
Poeple could overcome the forces of negative emotions life anger and hatred by cultivating their counter forces like love nad compassion.
Although individuals are unable to remove all negative emotions, if a person's basic mental attitude is healthy and calm it would not be much affected. Remaining calm will ensure blood pressure and emotions to remain normal and as a result the individual will enjoy good health.

Life...
The new work is kinda tough, so many things to learn. And one of the senior isn't really helping, being unfriendly also.
It's tough coping with both work and studies, but i guess no pain, no gain. I will try hard to get through this.
I am still at the early stage of the learning curve, when I reach the turning point into the saturation level, I forsee that things will be easier.
Hope all well ends well.

Hello World!
It has been awhile since my last post.
In between, I have lost count on how many time I am depressed and down.
Been through a tough time with AW. I have been avoiding her. I didn't know that she is attached. I felt embarrassed. Even disheartening is the fact that she gave stupid excuses that she tried to let me know, by showing her wallet to me implicitly. I called her to let me know my thoughts and faced off. It sad to have a good friendship ended up this way. She told me that she's a frank and direct person and the last thing in the world would be to think that she's attached. We used to talked and shared alot of things, and I can't imagine that she wouldn't tell me the basic fact that she's attached after all the sms that I've sent to her. I would expect respect and a courtesy notification about this. I have been quite sensitive on this matter. What's the big deal of telling your admirer that you are attached? I thought that she's matured but apparently she ain't so.
However, post-incident, I think I am ok at the moment as opposed to feel killing myself (literally) last time, but I would still have phobia whenever i see her in class. That's the reason I am avoiding her. Part of me is feeling embarrassed of the things/names I said/called her last time and part of me is angry because she's being a hypocrite.
On other matters, I am leaving MOT next week. Not too excited of new company though, maybe I wish that I could stop working altogether and still have a comfortable income every month. I have been transitioning my work to WY. I purposely mention her here because I want to talk something about her. She's quite a chick and I have been noticing her whenever I see her in the office. I didn't expect that I would get to work with her one day even though I think I have been wishing that. It's fun to work with chick I tell you, and particularly smart chick like her. It's a candy for the eye for sure. And after getting to know her, she's has a nice personality. She's realistic, smart, quite matured and has good sense of fashion. Hmn...someone that I would like to get attached to ;) Hopefully I can meet chicks like her in the new company.
Oh, I just celebrated my 25th birthday a few days ago. Celebrated with CS and PP at Cafe Cafe. Pretty nice place to bring a date but the food is just so so and expensive. Fine dining is not really my taste I guess. Had Foie Gras, Escargot, lamb shak and some dessert with red wine there. Most expensive meal that I ever had. I decided to spend PP on the meal to show my appreciation on handling my resume.
A day before, PP, CC and I has Bak Kut Teh at Klang. Not too bad. We had a great chat over some nice Chinese tea brought by CC.
Oh, went to HK also. It's a great place to visit. It has all the attributes of how a developed country should look like; great buildings, excellent public transportation, beautiful people, freedom, proper urban planning etc. Bought a couple of shirts, loads of souvenirs from Disneyland and a Seiko watch. Nice! Definitely will go back there again in the future.
I decided to major in International Business for my MBA. It would give me more exposure as compared to Finance.
I am inspired by character Ari Gold in the drama Entourage at the moment. I wanted to be like him in getting things done, has fiery and intelligent figure of speech, very confident and positive with high energy. Apparently as the latest episode revealed, he also cares for this kids very much, as oppose to his aggresive and all out style in doing his deal.
I am also inspired by YL who came from a small town in Kangsar and trying to survive in KL. Bought unit trust from her. She bought a house in Cheras and kept it damn clean and tidy.
We have similarity, I am a survival as well ! Whenever I see her, I will remind myself not to give up.
I am also also inspired by WY on her way of approaching works, being persistent on learning and following up on issues and being organized.
I am inspired by James Sun from the Apprentice Season 6 LA, to always differentiate yourself and do something more than others. This is important to excel in one's career. I guess this the strategy adopted by CO in MOT. That's how he got to Lead level in such a short time span.
Well, learnt quite a lot these few months and hopefully I would be able to practise these in my new venture.
Well, life is Great! :)

Depressed
Yet again, the past week was another depressed week. First mainly because I didn't get the work recognition whereas someone else got it. It was so hurt, when do feel that you deserve it as well. Well, of course, they may not have any good reason to give me because of the things that I am working on now, when it's really demotivating. Iwant it, damn it!
I felt that i am in a slump at my work place right now. In the coming checkpoint, I would wanna voice out all the dissatisfaction that I am facing, no shit about that. Just tell the manager what you want and what you feel. Bloody hell, enough is enough. I have no progress in my career at all, thanks to bad leadership and no good role model to follow. Fuck. I want to be in charge of something!
Going on some tough time in personal relationship as well. It seems that no one is really genuine at all. I got a feeling that AW is using me. Right after the midterm, that's it, no more sms reply etc. That is like so fucking obvious, 180 degrees!
Back to square one, control your desire and thoughts. Who cares about bitches, I know what I am capable of and what I deserve. I don't need this missing, checking phone for sms, worrying and caring kinda shit! Doesn't even have the courtesy to return sms or calls or emails. What the hell does that suppose to mean?
Fuck it! So down, full of anger, and everything.
Keep on working, man. Hardwork is the key to success. Focus and have discipline.

A start?
We have been in contact quite frequent over the past few days mainly on SMS and over the phone. Could this be a start on something? Her response seems to be different and she even mentioned of going out with me after the midterm. I thought it was all over between me and AW.
Anyhow, lesson learnt, I will try to control my thoughts and desire.
Midterm tests galore coming up soon, 3/5, 7/5 and 13/5. *gulp*
Okay I know, just be steady, be cool and there's nothing to worry about. This is maybe the 184267th times that I had test. So, I should really stop being scared/anxious/nervous about test!!!
I just need to try my best!

Peak performers' way of thinking and working
Via The Star today on it the main page of Classified section, some of the interesting points:
1) Peak performers work to the best of their abilities, enjoy their work and make it fulfilling.
2) There is a solution to every problem and peak performers are adept at finding solutions. When there are problems there are opportunities. Peak performer see problems as stepping stones to opportunities.
When the river is calm, fishermen gather. As a result, there is not enough fish for everybody. Few go fishing where the river is choppy, but there is exactly where the fish are.
3) Peak performer has mental discipline. They are in control of their thoughts and can change their attitudes, behavior and actions. They take charge of their life. They place great responsibilities on their shoulder and take actions to get the result that they want.
4) They learn from past failures and do not dwell on their past mistakes. They focus on their present and move on.
5)Average performers know what to do, but they do not do what they know. Peak performer know what to do and take actions.
6) New peak performer have the skills to model themselves on other top achievers to obtain results.
7) If other people can do something, so can you.
On a different note, a good line from the Site Manager during the recent town hall, " Only when there are wars, Heroes will rise".

Spiderman 3 Blues
I am going to watch Spiderman 3 on 1st May midnight with FY. She managed to get the tickets. Yay!
As the show is opening next week, the trailer is frequently shown on national TV. The action scenes shown is cool and should be an enjoyable movie. Newspaper review says that it is not as good as the second one though, but nevertheless, still a great movie.
Mention about Spiderman movie is somehow nostalgic to me, reminding me of what happened on the day I am suppose to watch the show with SW. We had a fight, and I ended up going back alone from MV without watching the movie. It was one of my last date with her, a low point in our relationship and the start of the end of the relationship.
After the breakup, we have not met and talked to each other. She even removed me from the Friendster and MSN. She's in Singapore now and in a relationship. I still miss her sometimes and do cherish all the happy times we had together.
Live goes on...

Gluttony
For the past two weeks or so, I have surrender myself to gluttony, specifically eating too much and eating too frequently, at odd hours. Maybe it is due to stress and my uninspiring office work, I am unsure. The urge to have a full stomach and more is simply irresistible. The feel and satisfaction from my endeavor is simply too good. The food doesn't have to be very tasty or expensive, just a simple meal would do, but of course, it has to be in 'sufficient' portion. The warmth of my stomach as I wolf down my meal is truly fulfilling.
I know that this is wrong, be it on my health or other aspect, but I can't help it. I need to have more self control.
From wikipedia:

From wikipedia:
Derived from the Latin gluttire, meaning to gulp down or swallow, gluttony is the over-indulgence and over-consumption of food, drink, or intoxicants to the point of waste. In the Christian religions, it is considered one of the seven deadly sins—a misplaced desire of food or its withholding from the needy.[1]

Heartache..
The three recent 'Heartache' that happened in the last six months...
1) Crushes period on M.S
2) Crushes period on A.W
3) Rejected during the S.C I.G interview.
Man, I should be forgetting these events that make me feel stupid and bleed in the heart whenever I think of it. But when these events do play in my mind, I'll try to recall the lessons learnt and how can I improve and avoid the same mistake again. Though no significant lesson learnt in 1) and 2), the consolation is only to acknowledge the cause of suffering - 'Tanha', as mentioned in the previous post.
One of the important lesson learnt from 3) is to improve on my way of thinking, consequently to be able to deliver and convey my thoughts verbally, effectively.
Hopefully no more Heartache anytime soon. Don't think my heart is strong enough, haha.
'Eventhough the Heart is broken, but it still keep beating...'

One of the important lesson learnt from 3) is to improve on my way of thinking, consequently to be able to deliver and convey my thoughts verbally, effectively.
Hopefully no more Heartache anytime soon. Don't think my heart is strong enough, haha.

The Cause of Suffering

http://Buddhism.2be.net/Tanha
The Buddha taught that life was inherently dukkha (suffering), that it is caused by tanha (craving), but that this condition was curable by following the Noble Eightfold Path.
Tanha means thirst, desire, craving, wanting more, longing, or yearning. Tanha leads to unsatisfactoriness which arises when we did not get what we want. This lead to jealousy. Jealousy lead to hatred. Hatred lead to dispute. Inflicting suffering on fellow human being is the out come of tanha.
Further analysis of tanha reveals that desire for conditioned things cannot be fully satiated or satisfied, due to their impermanent nature. This is expounded in Anicca (impermanence).

Face Fortune
In the process of self-realization, I stumbled upon this article in The Star today:
My mom says that I have an 'Oval' face...
(source: The Star, Sat, 22nd April) Face Fortune: By MADAM ZORRA
The search for fortune is a vital drive in every one of us. Merely surviving is never enough. We all want to thrive.
Young people are especially driven in this regard. But the passage of time and the disappointments of life take their toll on everyone eventually, so that in the end some of us are just glad to get through another day.
But why does it have to be this way?
Every human being is born with a fair chance of attaining “fortune”. Why then are there so many spectators watching enviously from the sidelines as the “lucky” few revel in their achievements.
Could it be that the unlucky ones missed the signs that would have pointed them onto the road to success?
Did you know that your face may indicate where your fortunes lie? The shape of your face can indicate your aptitude and ability, and it can tell you in which areas your fortune can be discovered.
A pyramid shape
This face has the energy of Mars. It is a face of power and force. Those with such a face shape have vitality, charisma, sex appeal, and courage. They are the soldiers, sportsmen, salesmen, fighters, leaders and adventurers. They should go for jobs that capitalise on their talents. Relegating them to the back seat will only demoralise them. Brad Pitt has such a face.
A round shape
This face shape is ruled by the Moon. People with round faces are adaptable and do well in businesses where money can be made. They make good bankers, financial advisors, accountants and wealth managers.
Their intuition and common sense gives them the ability to manage complex financial deals. They know how to manages their finances and where to get the best value for their money.
They see wealth and a sound bank balance as the road to fortune and success.
A triangle
Mercury rules this face shape. People whose faces are triangular are artistic, cerebral and motivated. This is the face of poets, artists, scientists, inventors, and thinkers. Their fortune comes from their rich imagination.
They are the mental explorers and dreamers. Their sensitivity helps put us in touch with our deepest emotions and make us realise the beauty that surrounds us. Their fortune is to be found in the arts and sciences.
Forcing these people to give up their dreams is akin to sounding the death knell for their soul. Van Gogh had such a face shape.
An Oval
This is the face of Venus. They are the managers, commanders, and enforcers of law. Their route to success is in e
stablishing order. They demand conformity, and they must be in charge.
People with oval faces tend to be teachers, corporate heads, political leaders, and movers and shakers of industry. They blossom and grow when given the chance to lead. They recognise talent and have the uncanny ability to harness it towards a common good.
They come into themselves when they have achieved status and recognition.
A square
This is the stable face of Saturn. Square-faced people are industrious and level-headed. They are the researchers of truth, the deep thinkers. They are the face of reason and rationality.
They see things in black and white, and have no time for greys. Though they are sometimes thought of as thwarters of new ideas and progress, they bring sensibleness and balance to schemes.
Their judgment is sound, although they may be perceived as gloomy, dark or pessimistic.
These solid, stoic people represent industry, research and steady effort. Responsibility is their route to fortune. The more they take on, the stronger and more reliable they become.
To know the shape of your face is to recognise your place in the scheme of things. Look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself if you are on the right path towards achieving personal satisfaction and success.

First Post
This very first post is to remind myself the reason(s) i have created this blog; as a channel for me to voice my own thoughts strictly to myself. I have the difficulties to voice out opinion and making points in any conversation, therefore I hope by writing down what I think, I can improve my linguistic skills. At least I hope I can do this by typing and thinking as spontaneously as I can.
2 days back, I just got booted from an interview (less than 10 minutes into it) for failing to elaborate what I am capable of doing in details.
Q)How do you handle pressure?
- I handle pressure very well and in a sense I welcome pressure because I believe that it can make you work better and push you to go for the extra mile to deliver a good quality work and on time.
Q) Anyone can answer that, that is too generic.
- ....
Maybe I should say more by explaining that life is about pressure; living up to people's expectation and meeting datelines. The whole life is a pressure and I think I am handling it well everyday. If I can't handle it, I would have ended my life long ago.....
It's about doing your best to not to fail your family's hope on you and about meeting dateline to be able to compensate the best that they have given you. And I say meeting dateline because parents are getting older by the day, and your time to be successful, to be able to reward them back becomes lesser and lesser. And you translate this in your work, to work as hard as you can.
I will treat this as a lesson for self-relization and to think of what is needed in my life. As I mentioned earlier, one of the most crucial thing would be to be able to voice out my thoughts and opinions properly, both verbally and on paper.
It's going to be Wesak Day in less than 2 weeks, it's about time I start to ponder about the Great Teacher's teaching again....
